Dinosaur Fortnight
When: Brighouse
Where: August
The Dinosaur Fortnight is back in Brighouse following last year’s resounding success. The main event takes place across Saturday August 19 to Sunday August 20, when the dinosaurs from The Dinosaur Experience are back in town!
During the fortnight though, be sure to try your hand at the Dinosaur Trail where those taking part could be in with a chance of winning some Dino-themed prizes. Keep your eyes peeled on Visit Brighouse’s social accounts for more information closer to the time…

6 weeks of summer fun, Eureka!
When: All summer long!
Where: Halifax
Be prepared for 44 days of non-stop fun at Eureka! this summer! The national children’s museum has an activity list that brings activities, performers and – of course – fun to Halifax over July and August, with jam-packed schedule.
From Professor Pumpernickel’s Science Show to the Great Mandavi’s extraordinary fire juggling, your young ones will be lost for words after taking in the best of what Eureka! has to offer this summer.

Norland Scarecrow Festival
When: Friday September 1 – Sunday September 3
Where: Norland (HX6 3RL)
See how many famous celebrities and characters your kids can spot at the iconic Norland Scarecrow Festival. Held the first weekend of September, this event has been a highlight on Calderdale’s calendar since it first took place in 2000 and is all in the name of raising money for the village and local charities.

Another World Adventure Centre
When: All summer long!
Where: Halifax
Although it might not be a specific event, a trip to the Another World Aventure Centre should not be missed this summer!
Whether its grass sledging, archery, woodlands games or go karting, this place has something to keep families of all ages occupied for a day out! With on-site instructors to show you the ropes throughout your visit, it’s a whole heap of fun in safe and secure environment.
